How to Configure ICP Scoring

Getting Started

Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) scoring is how Ostrich matches your product to the right buyers. By telling us which company sizes, industries, and roles are your ideal customers, we can surface your listing to the highest-fit prospects — increasing visibility and conversion.

Why ICP matters

When buyers search Ostrich, we rank vendors partially by ICP fit. A vendor with a clear ICP targeting mid-market SaaS companies will appear higher for a PM at a 150-person SaaS startup than for a recruiter at a 5,000-person enterprise. This relevance increases engagement and deal velocity.

Configuring your ICP

From your vendor dashboard, navigate to Settings → ICP Profile. You'll define your ideal customer across five dimensions:

  • Company size — Check 1–50, 51–200, 201–1000, 1000+. Select all that match your success window.
  • Industries — Select up to five industry verticals where you see the strongest product-market fit (e.g., SaaS, Hospitality, Retail).
  • Key buyer roles — Check which roles make decisions in your category: Product Manager, VP of Engineering, CRO, etc.
  • Tech stack keywords — List 3–5 tools or platforms your customers typically use (e.g., "Segment, Mixpanel, Amplitude" for analytics vendors).
  • Deal size — Annual contract value range where you win most deals: <$50K, $50–250K, $250K–1M, $1M+.

Refining over time

ICP is not set-and-forget. As new reviews come in, Ostrich learns which buyer segments rated you highest and auto-calculates segment-specific scores. Review these monthly and adjust your ICP profile if patterns shift. Buyers who match your stated ICP see your segment score prominently, helping them gauge fit before reading reviews.

  • ICP is optional on Starter plans, included on Growth and Pro
  • Changes take effect immediately
  • You can update your ICP at any time from Settings
  • Segment-specific ICP scores appear on your profile once you have 5+ reviews per segment
